I became interested in the Internet when my parents first got our 56k connection and I made myself a WYSIWYG Homestead website about the film ‘The Matrix’ (it had animated .gif images of spoons and everything). Since then I have been passionate about web design, constantly trying to improve my skills.

Nowadays I design with a focus on clean, semantic, hand-coded websites, paying close attention to usability and accessibility. I consider myself to be very capable with XHTML, CSS and jQuery and have basic PHP skills. I am proficient in both Photoshop and Illustrator, and have dabbled in a fair bit of logo and print design.

During my time at university I set up and ran a small web design firm, gaining 3 years of commercial experience and a wealth of knowledge in a client-facing role.

Since graduating, I joined Signature Gifts Ltd – a company with a strong ecommerce presence in the personalised gifts market. I am now the senior web designer for the company, reporting to the company director – where I am responsible for the design, development and maintenance of our entire online presence. I am also available for freelance work and produce premium website resources for ThemeForest.

In the wider world of Phil, I am 23 years old and currently living in Bedfordshire, UK - with my wife and dog. I enjoy both watching and playing cricket, though I am infinitely better at the former than the latter. Other than that, my life is pretty much consumed by my love on the web.

If you are interested in working with me or just want to say hello then please get in touch.
