About Me

I became interested in the Internet when my parents first got our 56k connection and I made myself a WYSIWYG Homestead website about the film ‘The Matrix’ (it had animated .gif images of spoons and everything). Since then I have been passionate about web design, constantly trying to improve my skills.

Nowadays I design with a focus on clean, semantic, hand-coded websites, paying close attention to usability and accessibility. I consider myself to be very capable with both XHTML & CSS and am working on my Javascript and PHP skills. I am proficient in both Photoshop and Illustrator, and have dabbled in a fair bit of logo and print design.

During my time at university I set up and ran a small web design firm, gaining 3 years of commercial experience and a wealth of knowledge in a client-facing role.

In the wider world of Phil, I am a 22 year old student hailing from the splendid county of Bedfordshire, in the UK. I am currently finishing my final year of a Civil Engineering degree at Loughborough University. I hope to move back down to Bedfordshire with my fiancée once I (if all goes to plan) graduate. I enjoy both watching and playing cricket, though I am infinitely better at the former than the latter.

If you are interested in employing me or just want to say hello then please get in touch.
