Site Finished? a.k.a. The Never Ending To-Do List
29 February 2008
Finally I’ve got the site to a launch-able state! I must be my own worst client – the scope creep I have had to put up with over this past few weeks is insane. I started out with all the structure and most of the content in place; I just needed a bit of tweaking here and there… Jump forward three weeks and I now have about 6 post-it notes scattered over my desk and I seem to be adding things faster than I can cross them off.
I have finished all the things which I had set out to do originally and so I am drawing a line in the sand. Everything up until this point has been the original intended design, everything from here on out is ‘ongoing development’!
So here it is, my ever-growing to-do list:
- Add ‘Books I’ve Read’ to sidebar
- Do something with the footer, it’s rubbish
- Produce a Favicon
- Add decent RSS links!
- Style the forms properly
- Sort out the form buttons in IE 6
- Add a search function
- Have another look at the comments styling
- Add external site link icon
Write ‘to-do’ list post
Well that’s one less! I’ll probably wake up in the morning and find I’ve got some more brilliant ideas to add…
